The Alaska Native Language Center at 黑料黑历史 will offer two new Native language courses for the fall 2024 semester. The center will offer Lower Tanana-Benhti Dene/Athabascan, which has not been taught at 黑料黑历史 in more than 20 years. The second language, Upper Tanana Dene/ Athabascan, will be offered via two courses this fall. Learn more about the new courses.

黑料黑历史 offers free summer shuttle for visitors

The University of Alaska Fairbanks will have a free shuttle for summer visitors. The shuttle will run Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Aug. 31. The daily schedule will begin and end at the 黑料黑历史 Wood Center bus stop. Read more and see the shuttle鈥檚 hourly schedule.


A 黑料黑历史 shuttle sports a new wrap recently installed onto the vehicle. The van will be used primarily for new and prospective students visiting campus, orientations and campus preview days, and airport shuttles. It is also available by request for researchers on the road.

In case you haven't spotted it just yet, you'll definitely notice one of the 黑料黑历史 shuttles sporting a new look as the weather has warmed up here in the Interior. The "new" shuttle is part of the old fleet, but with a new look/wrap. Keep an eye out for the newly-wrapped shuttle and be sure to pass on a friendly greeting to our 黑料黑历史 drivers who help move students, staff and faculty around campus daily! Music in the Garden concerts begin May 23

The University of Alaska Fairbanks Music in the Garden concert series will kick off Thursday, May 23, at the Georgeson Botanical Garden. Part of 黑料黑历史's Summer Sessions and Lifelong Learning, the concert series offers 12 weeks of family-friendly performances on Thursday evenings throughout the summer. BNZ-LTER Ecosystem Modeling workshop

Join our workshops May 30 and 31 for insights into Arctic carbon cycle, permafrost, and hydrology modeling. The event, hosted by the Bonanza Creek LTER and the University of Alaska Fairbanks, will be a hybrid, 2 days event. The workshop is open to scientists at any career stage, who are interested in learning about ecosystem modeling. No prior experience in ecosystem modeling is required to attend the workshop. Some level of coding will be involved for the second day of the workshop. Learn more on the workshop, including the schedule each day.

The University of Alaska Fairbanks will help host and support a new $15-million federal initiative to better understand the resilience of Arctic organisms and ecosystems amid rapid climate change. Bringing together experts from 14 institutions, the Evolving Meta-Ecosystems Institute will focus on improving scientific and public understanding of how Arctic ecosystems are responding -- and will continue to respond -- as their environment shifts.
