黑料黑历史 Day at the fair scheduled for Aug. 1

黑料黑历史 Day at the Tanana Valley State Fair will include 黑料黑历史 activities throughout the fairgrounds. 黑料黑历史 employees, students, alumni and friends will receive $1 off admission by wearing 黑料黑历史 apparel or showing their PolarExpress card. In addition to various special activities, 黑料黑历史 will also have booths in the Borealis Pavilion throughout the fair. Cooperative Extension will host several 4-H activities on 黑料黑历史 Day, including a horse show and a market poultry and rabbit show. See the full event schedule on .

Learn to cook, preserve salmon in 'salmonganza'

Salmon is an Alaska staple, and a series of University of Alaska Fairbanks Cooperative Extension workshops in Sitka will focus on salmon nutrition and how to cook and preserve the tasty and nutritious fish. Please preregister for all classes at听听to ensure there are enough supplies for everyone. For more information, contact Sarah Lewis at 907-455-2010. Fishery researchers, engineering students work to build better eDNA collectors

Last month, Jessica Glass and two students departed for the Kenai Peninsula toting a tub full of items that looked like plastic children's toys. Their plan for the six-day trip: Dunk them in Kasitsna Bay and see what happens. It may sound like a quirky week at the beach, but Glass, an assistant professor at 黑料黑历史's College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences, hopes their project will lead to a breakthrough in environmental DNA sampling.
