We seek your input in a survey assessing the job performance of Director of Libraries
Karen Jensen. The purpose of this survey is to incorporate faculty, staff, and student
input as part of 黑料黑历史鈥檚 administrator development and evaluation program. All parts

AS黑料黑历史 is accepting nominations for student commencement speakers. Any 黑料黑历史 faculty,
staff or student may nominate a fall 2022, spring 2023 or summer 2023 graduate to
give the student address at Commencement on May 6, 2023. Nominations may be made via听. The deadline for nominations is听
March 3.
Join Barrett Salisbury, manager of the State of Alaska Division of Geological & Geophysical
Surveys Earthquake and Tsunami Hazards program, on Friday, March 3 from 3:30-4:30 p.m. in the Elvey Auditorium as he talks about active tectonic faults that contribute to the soon-to-be-released
updated Alaska Seismic Hazard maps.

Join Alaskan-born composer, sound artist, and eco-acoustician Matthew Burtner Friday, March 3 from 3-4 p.m. in the Murie Auditorium where he will discuss recent projects involving long-term ecological research (LTER)
and describe how computational audio interpretations of scientific data can lead to
new ways of 鈥渉earing鈥� temporality and change in the environment.

Responsible Conduct of Research training will be offered in-person on Saturday, March 25 from 9 a.m. to noon. This workshop fulfills the National Science Foundation and National Institutes of
Health requirements for formal RCR instruction.
Eco-acoustician, composer, and sound artist Matthew Burtner will perform at the Davis Concert Hall on Thursday, March 2 from 7-9 p.m. as part of a one-week residency at 黑料黑历史. The event is free to 黑料黑历史 students and $10 for General Admission. A reception in the
Great Hall will follow.
The University of Alaska Fairbanks had another record-breaking turnout during the
third annual UA Giving Day event Feb. 22-23. Over the course of 49 hours, more than 800 donors contributed $834,244 to support
students and programs at 黑料黑历史, an increase of more than 26% over the amount raised
during the previous Giving Day event. The total included 46 large matching gifts from
dozens of sponsors. Learn more.
The 黑料黑历史 Department of Theatre & Film presents听The Shape of Things,听written by Neil LaBute and directed by Rachel Blackwell, in the Lee H. Salisbury Lab
Theatre. Showings will be Friday, March 3 at 7:30 p.m.; Saturday, March 4 at 7:30 p.m.; and Sunday, March 5 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $10 for students; $15 for seniors/military/黑料黑历史; $20 for adults + $2 at the door (buy online and save). This play is rated R (some language and sexuality). The show runs for 2 hours, and

Tune into this free webinar on Wednesday, March 8 from 3-5 p.m. Ellise Antoinette Smith is from Detroit, Michigan, with a research focus on the
experiences of bodies that identify as fat. With an interdisciplinary focus, Smith
uses photography (#VisualActivism), podcasting, spoken word poetry, and social media
as a catalyst to center these narratives. .
URSA is excited to announce the opening of a new undergraduate funding opportunity:
Internship Awards! URSA's Internship Awards offer fellowship funding up to $6,000
for the summer or $3,000 for the fall or spring term to support cost-of-living expenses
for unpaid or minimally paid* internships with organizations external to 黑料黑历史.
The University of Alaska Museum of the North will offer two ARTSci workshops for teens
in March. On Monday, March 6, the program will focus on gyotaku, the Japanese art of fish printing. On March 30, the focus will be faux taxidermy. Both sessions run from 4 to 5:30 p.m.
