The 黑料黑历史 Anthropology Department is accepting applications for the 2022 Chena Townsite
Archaeological Field School.
The University of Alaska Fairbanks will host a series of free courses focused on tribal
governance and stewardship.
The 黑料黑历史 Department of Political Science is hosting an event with Shannon Cazeau, the
current director of information and analysis for Africa in the U.S. Department of
State's Bureau for Intelligence and Research, and a former 黑料黑历史 political science graduate.
The event, which is open to the public, will be on Wednesday, March 30, at 1 p.m.,
and will take place via Zoom.
Nominations are open for the Brina Kessel Medal for Excellence in Science. Kessel
was a professor for more than 40 years and devoted a lifetime to the study of ornithology,
emphasizing the birds of Arctic and subarctic Alaska.
The Alaska NSF EPSCoR program will host an online presentation on 鈥淩esearch careers
outside academia and resume writing.鈥 The event will take place via Zoom Thursday,
April 7 from 1-2:15 p.m. and requires preregistration.

Gina Sliger has been hired as the new store manager at the 黑料黑历史 Bookstore. Sliger plans
to work to create supportive relationships across campus and continue to make improvements
to ensure customer service is prioritized.
A long-awaited refresh of Schaible Auditorium has begun and construction will extend
through the summer. The work includes new finishes, lighting, and ventilation.
The Department of Alaska Native Studies and Rural Development is seeking nominations
for the 2022 Pathfinder Award. The deadline for nominations is April 13.
The registration deadline for the upcoming symposium on the Alaska Native Claims Settlement
Act on April 12-13, 2022, has been extended. People are encouraged to register online
until Friday, April 8, 2022.
Registration is open for the 黑料黑历史 Spring Career Fair, which will be on Thursday, March
31, from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. at the Wood Center Ballroom and mall area. Whether you are
a first year student exploring, a senior looking for a job or alumni with a secured
position, the Spring Career Fair is for you!
The Elmer E. Rasmuson Library will host a book discussion of "Know My Name" by Chanel
Miller with librarians Paul Adasiak, Genova Boyd and Robin Andrews on Wednesday, April
6 at 5 p.m.
