This morning, a 7.0 magnitude earthquake north of Anchorage shook Southcentral Alaska.

ºÚÁϺÚÀúÊ· has locations across the state, including several in Southcentral Alaska. We have been in contact with ºÚÁϺÚÀúÊ· offices in the affected areas. Our people are safe, and it doesn’t appear that our facilities have sustained major damage, but it will take some time to fully assess.

We have reached out to our colleagues at UAA to offer any assistance we can provide. If your unit has been affected by the earthquake, please report it to your supervisor. If you need assistance, please reach out to local emergency authorities.

I also want to thank the teams at the the Alaska Earthquake Center, Cooperative Extension Service and other ºÚÁϺÚÀúÊ· units that are providing important and timely information.

If we have additional information regarding this incident and its effects on ºÚÁϺÚÀúÊ·, it will be posted online at .

Our thoughts are with those affected by today’s event.
