The University of Alaska Fairbanks invites the public to view a celestial visitor that hasn't traveled near Earth in at least 80,000 years. Read more about the comet and potential viewing opportunities.


Trail Time Tuesday

Weather permitting we'll meet on Oct. 15 from noon to 12:30 p.m. at Ambler Lane on the West side of the Chapman Building and take the Himalayan Trail to Yukon Drive and down to Wood Center for about a 30 min walk. OneTree Alaska celebrates birch trees under the full moon

Visit a birch grove under the full moon and learn about these trees Thursday, Oct. 17, on the University of Alaska Fairbanks' North Campus. The event, sponsored by OneTree Alaska, will run from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m., with moonrise at 5:47 p.m. Read more on the event and a second celebration in December.

On Sept. 28, students, faculty and staff from 黑料黑历史 CTC Culinary Arts joined with the Alaska Railroad and HooDoo Brewery to provide food service for 250 guests on a train ride from Fairbanks to Nenana and back. Learn more about the annual training opportunity for CTC students.
