Galena river energy project receives $9.5 million

The Yukon River village of Galena and the University of Alaska Fairbanks will investigate whether in-river turbines can provide electricity to the community. The 黑料黑历史 Alaska Center for Energy and Power and the nonprofit Sustainable Energy for Galena Alaska will explore the idea. Their project has received a $9.5 million grant from the U.S. Department of Energy. Read more about the project.

Spring Mental Health First Aid training

Student Health and Counseling will continue to offer Mental Health First Aid training to the UA community throughout the spring 2024 semester. The next course will be held virtually via Zoom on March 28 and 29, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day. Learn more and register for the training.

Responsible Conduct of Research training March 26

Responsible Conduct of Research training will be offered via Zoom on Tuesday, March 26 from 1-4:30 p.m. This workshop fulfills the National Science Foundation and National Institutes of Health requirements for formal RCR instruction. Read more about training and how to sign up.

Wet overflow a winter hazard in Alaska
