Request for proposals: Makerspace communities

The University of Alaska community is invited to submit proposals to develop and sustain makerspaces within UA鈥檚 academic environment. Proposals must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. Friday, March 12.

Teaching Tip: Assessing Canvas as an alternative to Blackboard

黑料黑历史 has been involved in a pilot program to assess the Canvas learning management system, or LMS. More than 1,000 students and 45 faculty are using it.

黑料黑历史's Seward Marine Center celebrates a half-century

On Dec. 11, 2020, the shiny, silver research vessel Nanuq departed Seward carrying a small group of faculty and staff from 黑料黑历史. Onboard was a cylindrical array of sampling containers and instruments adorned with colorful balloons. A bottle of sparkling fruit juice nestled within the cluster of equipment.

Expanded Pub hours

Starting the first week of March, the Pub will be open from 4:30-10 p.m. on Wednesdays and Thursdays and from noon-10 p.m. on Fridays.

Rasmuson Library offering in-person appointments to public

Starting March 1, the Rasmuson Library will expand its service offerings to the general public.
