In Fairbanks, Joe Nava is pretty much a household name, whether through his work as a gun safety instructor, as host of the local radio program 鈥淪hooters Corner,鈥� or as the creator of the Youth Hunter Education Challenge. What might not be so well known is Nava鈥檚 longtime ties to the University of Alaska Fairbanks 鈥� as a student, athlete, researcher and, as of 2009, a member of the Nanook Hall of Fame.
