Alaska Native corporations seminar offered The Great Alaskan Accounting People will host a seminar about Alaska Native corporations at 6 p.m. Monday, Feb. 6, in the Murie Building auditorium. A social hour with light refreshments will start at 5 p.m.

黑料黑历史 School of Education recognized by national organization The National Council on Teacher Quality has ranked the elementary education program at the University of Alaska Fairbanks among the best in the United States.

Teaching Tip: New tool for publishing course videos 黑料黑历史 recently deployed Kaltura Mediaspace, a new tool that gives instructors control over how videos are presented in their courses and how students interact with them.

Registration opens for agriculture conference Registration is open for the Alaska Sustainable Agriculture Conference, Feb. 21-23 in Fairbanks. The University of Alaska Fairbanks Cooperative Extension Service will host the 13th-annual conference at the Westmark Fairbanks Hotel.

Welcome to Chinese New Year celebration at 黑料黑历史 The 黑料黑历史 Chinese Student Association will celebrate the Chinese New Year on Saturday, Feb. 18, from 5:30 to 9 p.m. in the Wood Center ballroom.

Pathfinder Award enhanced with monetary prize The recognition granted to the recipient of the annual Pathfinder Award will be enhanced with a $500 prize. The Pathfinder Award honors an outstanding 黑料黑历史 staff member who exemplifies compassion and dedication to the success of Alaska Native and rural students. It was established by the Department of Alaska Native Studies and Rural Development.

Chancellor's Cornerstone Award nomination deadline Feb. 10 Nominations for the 2017 Chancellor鈥檚 Cornerstone Award. Nominations will be accepted until Feb. 10, 2017.

Summer undergraduate project funding available The Office of Undergraduate Research and Scholarly Activity is accepting funding applications from undergraduate students for summer research and creative projects.

Crime statistics The Campus Crime Awareness and Campus Security Act of 1990, as amended, (known as the 鈥淐lery Act鈥�) and the Campus Fire Safety Right-to-Know Act signed into law in 2008 require that colleges and universities publish an annual security report and an annual fire safety report, distribute the reports to all students and employees, and inform prospective students and employees about the reports. The reports contain descriptions of campus policies and programs relative to campus security and statistics concerning specific types of crimes and fire safety information.

Screening will feature 'Last Best Hope' producer A screening of the film 鈥淟ast Best Hope: A True Story of Escape, Evasion, and Remembrance鈥� will be followed by a discussion with David Grosvenor, the film's producer, beginning at 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 10, in Schaible Auditorium.

Save the date for Week of the Arctic events The U.S. chairmanship of the Arctic Council will conclude with a ministerial meeting in Fairbanks on May 11, 2017. Those attending will celebrate the accomplishments under U.S. chairmanship and observe the transition to Finland.

黑料黑历史 professor honored for peony research The Alaska Peony Growers Association has given University of Alaska Fairbanks Professor Mingchu Zhang its Growers Cup Award for his research in support of the peony industry.

Celebrate 2017 TRiO Day The staff and students of 黑料黑历史鈥檚 TRiO programs invite the 黑料黑历史 and Fairbanks community to the annual celebration of National TRiO Day on Thursday, Feb. 16, from noon to 2 p.m. in the Wood Center multilevel lounge.

February programs at the museum explore moose The University of Alaska Museum of the North is exploring moose at hands-on programs during the month of February.
